Getting Started
What are Downtimes
Downtimes are something you submit via email between game sessions. This is to let the ST know what your PC is doing between games. Each game session is considered to be on real time; whatever amount of time transpires between game sessions also transpires for your PC. This is also where you spend XP.
For now we will focus on the basics of submitting an Action, how to use Actions to spend xp, and how to Feed.
Action Points
You get a total of 40 Action Points per Downtime Period to spend on Actions.
Submitting Downtimes
Downtimes are emailed to [downtimeswsr@gmail.com]. They are due the first Wed after game; results will be emailed out the Saturday between games. This gives you a week to email the ST staff any questions, and to discuss and plan IC based on the results prior to the next game session.
Writing your first Action
Example:
Goal: Grow Underworld Influence 1 – Among the Russian Mob
AP: 5
Money Spent: $3,000
District: Moscow West
Description: Being a Russian myself I spread some money around asking who the big hitters are in town, trying to get my name out there. I sell myself as a thug for hire, and hope to get someone's attention.
Goal: This is where you tell the ST what you are trying to accomplish. In this example the player is attempting to grow his first dot of Underworld influence, and more specifically he is trying to get in with the Russian Mob.
AP: This is where you tell the ST how many Action Points you wish to allocate for this Action. Growth is a specific action that has a preset base AP cost of 5. We will discuss this in more detail later on.
Money Spent: This is a courtesy field; it is to let the ST's know how much money you intend to spend on this action. In this example the player has stated that he will be using bribes as a way to garner information. In this field we know he intends to spend 3,000 dollars in bribes over the two week downtime period. The reason for placing it in a separate location instead of just saying it in the description is to make it easier for the ST Team to locate and add up the total amount of money you spend so it can be subtracted from your bank account.
District: This is to let the ST know where you intend to perform the action. In this example the player was growing in Moscow West, a district controlled by the Russian Mob. Had he tried to grow in a district controlled by a different mob, or with little mob influence, it would have altered the results greatly.
Description: This is the meat and potatoes of any action. This is where you tell the ST how you intend to go about your action.
Not all of these terms will make sense to you right now, and that is okay. We will get to them later, for now we will focus on the basics.
Goal:

Description:
Every Action you submit will at the minimum have these fields. The first set of Actions we want to discuss are spending XP actions.
